Dear Global Village, on behalf of our Soulpepper Academy artists, we would like to invite you to a public sharing of their works-in-progress on August 3 & 4 from 7-10pm in the Tank House Theatre.
For the last six weeks, the Academy has been working alongside award-winning playwright-performer, scholar and activist d’bi.young anitafrika to create their very own Biomyths, which meld elements of personal biography, mythology, and story into a unique narrative. anitafrika has been guiding the artists in a one-of-a-kind performance training module on Decolonial Performance Praxis and Biomyth Making Using the Anitafrika Method, inviting them to critically examine their own experiences, explore and experiment artistically with their newfound self-knowledge, and finally connect their work to a broader societal context. The sharings will culminate in a community conversation where audiences can engage in a dialogue about the artists’ work and process.
ADMISSION IS FREE – click here to register for your ticket
